European DSA of the Year! 
The UK Direct Selling Association has been named European Direct Selling Association of the Year for its work in promoting and supporting direct selling. 
The DSA beat off 27 other national DSA's to win the award at the European Direct Selling Association (Seldia) Annual Conference. 
The UK DSA team, led by new Director General Lynda Mills, was praised for broadcasting positive messages about direct selling and showcasing the industry to new sectors including under 25's, men and over 50's. The association's work to support member companies with initiatives such as the DSA annual conference, awards, seminars, advice and education were also highlighted. 
Lynda Mills, Director General said, "The UK DSA team are truly passionate about direct selling and we are thrilled to have been named European Direct Selling Association of the Year. Direct selling is booming in the UK with over 400,000 people involved in the industry and we are committed to helping both these individual direct sellers, and our 60 member companies to thrive."

Legal Affairs Committee 
This committee is a discussion forum not a decision taking body. It discusses legal/compliance issues relating to direct selling.  
Representatives of DSA members, prospective members and supplier members are all welcome to attend. Those who attend are typically those who have an interest in legal/compliance issues and might be lawyers or working in a member’s compliance or regulatory department. The committee is chaired by the DSA Code Administrator. 
Usually there are two meetings a year: one in May the day after the DSA annual conference (at the conference venue); the other in November in London. Meetings usually last about 2 hours. 
The next meeting will be held at Wragge Lawrence Graham, 4 More London Riverside, London SE1 2AU on 10th November 2014 at 11am. Anyone from a DSA member, prospective member or supplier member wishing to attend, please email dsaoffice@dsa.org.uk 
Threats and opportunities 
Our recent seminar on the threats and opportunities to Direct Selling organisations was a great hit, with delegates hearing some enlightening insights from a CEO panel. In the afternoon, the round table session gave everyone a chance to discuss issues and solutions. As usual in this industry, the willingness to share real experiences was a huge benefit to delegates.
