Success Stories: Nafisa Patel

Nafisa Patel is a busy mum of four, but she has still managed to grow an incredibly successful business, become a Rising Star Winner, a Sales Champion, and now New Consultant of the Year. All within two years! How did she do that?!

Nafisa had no intentions of becoming a Consultant as she had very little self-esteem and didn’t think she was capable of running her own business. But thanks to lots of encouragement from her own Consultant, she took the plunge.

“I was so nervous when I first received all my products. I didn’t think I could sell any of them. However, my Consultant reassured me I could it. I was passionate about the brand, I had the knowledge from the training days and I wanted to help people. Knowing my Consultant had my back gave me the confidence to get out there, and she’s the reason I was able to grow my business so quickly.”

Nafisa got her first team member within only a few months of becoming a Consultant. She now has eight in her team with another two about to become accredited. Since the launch of a new company incentive programme, called The Pathway to Success, she’s now determined to grow her team and work her way up the levels.

“I love the new Pathway to Success because it’s encouraged me to focus on specific areas of my business. I’m happy with my client base, if anything, I don’t have time to see any more clients. But now, if I struggle, I can pass them down to my team. Not only does this help me, but it also gives my team a boost.”

It may seem that running a successful business comes naturally to Nafisa, but she had no sales, managerial, or business experience before becoming a Consultant. But she does have a very simple trick.

“I talk about my business to all my clients from the first day I meet them. I talk about how the business works, how it changed my life, and that it can change theirs too.”

One of the many reasons Nafisa was named this year’s New Consultant of the Year is because of her total dedication and passion to the Company. She regularly says that becoming a Consultant gave her a new lease of life.

“I love helping people, but a few years ago I started to think that I was a bit of a pushover; I gave too much, got nothing in return and was getting hurt. I thought I needed to become more selfish. But that’s not me, I wouldn’t be happy living like that. However, with this job, the more people I help, the more successful I become. It’s totally win-win.”

Not only is being a Consultant a fulfilling career for Nafisa, it has also given her financial independence and freedom she’s never had before.

“I was working 8am – 6pm every Saturday and Sunday in Primark and I rarely got to spend time with my children. Now, in half a day I earn more than what I was earning in a month at Primark. I used to be so worried about money. If the kids asked to go to the cinema I would panic because we couldn’t afford it, We now regularly go to the cinema and days out. Last year I paid for us all to go on an all-inclusive holiday for 10 days. It gives me so much self-worth knowing that I can provide for my family while also being able to spend time with them.”

Although she seems it, Nafisa isn’t ‘superwoman’. She just had a great Consultant who gave her the encouragement she needed, then she had the drive to improve her life for her and her family. It just shows what a little ambition and hard work can do.
